To answer this question it is first necessary to answer a few more fundamental questions. What is money? Where does money come from? What mechanism gives money its valuation? These will be some of the issues I will dive into as I work to develop this page. Nevertheless, my primary objective with this effort is to educate readers on the very complex subject of finance and economics from the the perspective of the Left.

What is money, debt, credit and wealth?
To get a fundamental understanding of these topics we need to delve into the history of debt. And one of the most influential writers of this history, from the perspective of the Left, is Professor of Economic Anthropology, Dr. David Graeber. In one of his most influential books, “Debt”, The First 5000 Years, Dr. Graeber provides a well thought out argument of how debt was the very first form of exchange of value between humans.
