Join the Fun! Enter your pet in the 1st Annual Pet Show Contest. Submit a pet photo in any one of six categories — Best Friend, Best Smile, Best Pet Costume, Best Senior Pet, Best Young Pet, and Other.
Pet Photo Contest 2025 Rules
Who may enter?
Contest is open to residents of Iowa County, Wisconsin.
Contest Rules?
• Multiple photos may be submitted but each pet photo MUST be submitted with a completed entry form
• Photos submitted must be original and taken by you or a family member
• Photos can be in color or black & white
• Photos must be of pets only (no humans) but more than one pet may be pictured in a single photo
• Entry in the contest constitutes permission to use the photo in the paper, online, and for display
• Judges have the right to reassign categories for mislabeled or misfiled photos at their discretion
• All entries become the sole and exclusive property of the Pet Photo Contest Sponsor and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged or returned
• Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, technically corrupted or garbled entries, for problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, or electronic. Only fully completed entries are eligible
Judging
Each pet photo submitted by the deadline will be judged by a panel of three (3) Pet Photo Contest judges. Only the pet’s photo, a registration number, and the pet’s name will be visible to the judges. Judges will select the winners of each category.
Permissions
By submitting a photo and descriptive information to enter this contest, you grant us permission to post the image, pet’s name, and your description of why your pet is the best on our website and social media. If your pet is a winner, your name may be included in social media and traditional media posts. Images may be edited to fit promotional material and/or on posters. How to enter?
• A completed entry form MUST be submitted for EACH photo entered
• Select a category for each pet photo submitted and tell us why your pet should be a “winner” of this category
• Submit a pet photo in any one of these six (6) categories: Best Friend, Best Smile, Best Pet Costume, Best Senior Pet, Best Young Pet and Other
• For Digital Images and Online Entry Form: Open dpic2025petcontest.png and complete the entry form. Then submit form along with digital image
• For Print Image: Receive entry form and then complete form and submit form along with print pet photo at the Democratic Party of Iowa Office, 43 High Street, Mineral Point, WI. Completed forms and photos may be dropped-off in a box, during the hours of Thursday 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and Sunday 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Entry form and pet photos must be received between Sunday June 1 to Monday, June 21 @ 11:59 pm CST to be considered officially entered
Voting & Announcement of Winners
The judges will review all eligible entries and select category winners on or before July 1, 2025. Winners will be notified on or before July 4, 2025 and invited to walk or ride with the Democratic Party of Iowa County parade float in the 4th of July Parade in Mineral Point, WI. Pet photo “winners” may appear in the parade or have their pet photo displayed on the float. Each category winner will be featured on the Democratic Party of Iowa County (iowacountydemswi.org ) website. A public announcement of the pet photo winners will be made at the Pet Photo Contest Celebration held in the office of the Democratic Party of Iowa County, on Friday, July 4, 2025.
