Farmers Appreciation Day Parade July 13, 2025 Dodgeville 11am
July 13th we will be taking part in the big Farmers Appreciation Day parade that will be held in Dodgeville, beginning at 11:00 a.m. This is another big event, described by someone to me as “Dodgeville’s version of a 4th of July parade.” Like the parade in Mineral Point on the 4th, this one will feature our Pet Photo Contest winners. I will have more details about when and where to assemble soon.

Candidate Forums Wisconsin State Senate 17th District 4-6pm July 12, 2025 Dodgeville
Saturday, July 12, 2025 we will be holding the first of a series of forums featuring the prospective candidates who hope to be squaring off against Howard Marklein in the 17th state Senate district in the fall of 2026. The forum will run from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and it will take place in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church, 115 W. Merrimac Street in Dodgeville. It is no exaggeration at all to say that the election in the 17th district will be pivotal for determining which party has control of the state Senate in 2027 and 2028. The Senate Democratic leadership has said exactly the same thing. So mark your calendars and do plan to come listen to and and then meet the people who hope to carry the Democratic banner in this crucial, crucial race in November of 2026.

More than 150 retired judges criticize arrest of Hannah Dugan in letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi
More than 150 retired judges criticize arrest of Hannah Dugan in letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi
byu/DriftlessDairy inwisconsinA bipartisan group of more than 150 former federal and state judges sharply criticized the Trump administration for its handling of the arrest of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan in a May 5 letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.
“Seeing a judge handcuffed, photographed and perp walked highlights the authoritarian playbook of the Trump administration,” said Nancy Gertner, a former federal judge and Democratic President Bill Clinton appointee who helped write and signed the letter. “It is something we should never tolerate in the United States.”
Another lead signer, J. Michael Luttig, a conservative former federal appeals court judge, said: “I have spent my career upholding the Constitution. I never imagined I’d see a judge treated like this in America. The arrest and prosecution of judges is where rule by law ends and authoritarianism begins. The judiciary is the last obstacle to a president with designs on tyrannical rule.”

50501
50 Protests. 50 States. 1 Movement. Uphold the constitution and end executive overreach
50501 is a peaceful movement.
Violence of any kind will not be tolerated.50501 is a national movement made up of everyday Americans
who stand for democracy, and who stand against the authoritarian
actions of the Trump Administration. The name 50501 stands for
50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Movement.
Since January, the Trump Administration has continued to attack
our civil liberties, take illegal and unconstitutional actions, and gut
the public services we pay for with our taxes.
We call on our government to…
Uphold the Constitution.
End Executive overreach.
Our movement will continue to hold massive protests nationwide
until these 2 calls are satisfied by our elected officials.
Join us in practicing one of America’s most fundamental traditions:
Protesting to hold our government accountable to the will of
the people.
